You are sitting in a train and are bored to the core. You just turn around and find your neighbour listening to songs in the MP3 player. How you wish you had it! Well, buying an MP3 player is not that difficult. With the latest types coming out in different types, it is only easy to choose one from them.

The main features in an MP3 player are:

Capacity: The memory capacity differs with the types of MP3 players. The larger the storage capacity, the more number of songs you can store. Each song, on an average, takes around 4MB of space.

Size and weight: Usually MP3 players are light weighted. The weights range from 40g to over 300g as well. Mostly it is that if the storage capacity is big, the weight and size of the player is also big.

Audio formats: MP3 players are compatible to not all types of song files. WMA and AAC are most commonly used formats, with the latter giving good clarity and quality as well.

Interface: Mostly MP3 players use USB as their PC interface. With USB, songs can be uploaded and downloaded between the player and PC.

Battery back up: The battery back up can range from a few hours to up to 40 hours in certain types of players. The battery life depends on the type of battery and player used. Some also come with rechargeable battery that can be recharged before using.

Remote: Nowadays MP3 Players also come with a remote control that allows you to access the player with the remote, and can also contain a small LCD monitor in it.

Other features: Other functions like FM radio, Dictaphone etc also come attached to the player.

Undoubtedly, the MP3 player is definitely a very good entertainer and also a good companion!
