We are waiting for this package for a long time now, because experts say us that Vista in its first appearance wasn’t ready and that’s why it’s functionality in some aspects weren’t as good as we expected. IS this problem solved in this first SP1?

Microsoft promise us that Windows Vista Sp1 Will be Faster and a lot of mistakes will be repaired. We will try to solve this question offering you a view in the CNET accomplished first SP1 test’s.

I have to tell that CNET results aren’t reasonable because in some aspect’s the operations are faster but in other they aren’t.

In this Service package are included a lot of new driver versions, what are noticeably upgraded the fastness of them, but a lot of theme where available before to those who had the automatic upgrades turned ON. Microsoft have invested a lot of finance’s in this Project.

In tests the biggest high-speed increasing where noticed in file copying – the speed have increased about 40 to 50 %. Interesting is that copying to USB speed is reduced , but generally the speed is increased. Microsoft Promise us that they will fix this problem with USB in short time.

Overall conclusion is that Almost none of us will be able to feel the difference between the Original Vista and the SP1, because only the file copying speed is increased. But a lot of mistakes have been fixed.

Overall there will be three office packages.

The first – “Office 2008 for Mac Home and Student Edition” includes “Word”, “Excel”, “PowerPoint”, “Entourage” (multi functional mail client) and mostly will be for home users.

The second version will be simply “Office 2008 for Mac”, without “Home and Student Edition. Probably there will be available “Windows Exchange Server” (that is for professionals).

And lastly the third – “Special Media Edition” that also includes “Expression Media” that is for photos editing and organization.
